The best leg workout for runners

It was a hot summer day when I met the Runtastic crew for an amazing collaboration in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Personally I use the Runtastic apps a lot, so I was super excited to record this fantastic video with Lunden Souza and her team.

These 7 exercises are the key to strong legs for runners. Running without focusing on strength training could lead to a higher risk of injuries and overtraining.  You can do these leg exercises outdoor using any park bench and zero equipment. You just need yourself and an elevated surface.

Go for 3 sets of 15-20 repetitions of each of these leg exercises. You can do this workout 2 times per week and you’ll really notice a difference!

Step Up + Lunge
Box Jumps
Bulgarian Split Squat
Side Lunge
Squat Hold + Taps
Tap Squat
Hip Thrusters
